Schoon De Companje, previously known as Oude Bank Bakkerij, can only be described as a mini-Europe in our very own dorpie, Stellenbosch. This family-run business oozes atmosphere and provides the ultimate artisanal experience. Schoon De Companje offers an amazing assortment of breakfasts, baked goodies, lunches and dinners.

The European setting and great food make for an unforgettable experience. Not only is it a sit-down restaurant, but they also house their own artisan-ice cream bar, local brews on tap, a wine shop, butchery, organic produce market and a selection of home baked breads and pastries.

My all-time favourite meal is the Creamy Scrambled Egg Breakfast. The creamy scrambled eggs are served on homemade sourdough tost with sundried tomatoes and everyone's favourite - bacon. Accompanying this, of course, has to be a freshly brewed cappuccino! DELISH! They also serve a selection of other hot and cold breakfasts such as homemade granola, fresh fruit salad, french toast, chocolate-banana bread and poached eggs. One can also create their own platter of breads, pesto's, cheeses and dips.

The décor in Schoon De Companje is amazing and the elements of wood provide a rustic feel. The breakfast is served on wooden boards and the coffee is presented in the most exquisite cups. Every element of design fits perfectly together and the overall impression leaves one highly satisfied. Schoon De Companje go beyond expectations in every way - taste-buds, ambience, décor, friendliness and service. They never fail to impress! 

I highly recommend you pay a visit to this quaint and cosy restaurant, BUT be sure to book a table because you are guaranteed to find a queue!

Zomato has released it's own app that makes a diners life so much simpler. This app is a "Foodie Bible" - it is ones go-to for reviews on restaurants, menu's, locations, prices and so much more. The great thing about this app, is that it categorises restaurants into Collections such as "Sweet Delights" or "Banting Friendly" which makes searching for a restaurant oh so simple. 

Not only is the app efficient and effective. It is FUN. If you are a foodie, like me, then exploring the app and reading up on different restaurants will leave you entertained for hours. Better yet, you can have your say by reviewing and rating any restaurant you have visited. 

Everyone and anyone can download the Zomato app from their app store and create their own profile. Your profile can reflect your very own food journey. It is your own Food Diary where you can write reviews, show off pictures and check-in at restaurants all over the World. Zomato also allows you to connect with friends and discover great restaurants through them and their profiles.

On your profile, you can also have a list of restaurants that you have bookmarked which allows you to have an easy-reference list of all your favourite places. The Zomato app creates a foodie community and is a great way to connect with fellow bloggers and foodie lovers. It is also a great tool to use when searching for restaurants and honest opinions about ones dining experiences. All reviews are posted and everyone has a chance to let their opinions be heard. 

It is a great platform for restaurants to gain coverage and for one to familiarise themselves with restaurants in their area. I highly recommend you all go download the Zomato app onto your tablets and cell phones ASAP!!
